What I've read from a book--Overcoming Negative Emotions.
When we confess our sins, God takes care of them.
They are GONE FOREVER!
He will never remind us of our sin once it is confessed because it is "no more".
If you're lying awake feeling guilty about something you did, say on graduation night, and you've already asked God for forgiveness, it is not God who is making you feel wretched!
He's forgiven your sin and swept it away.
Who you're hearing is the accuser, who tried to contradict God's forgiveness and turn you away from His love.
And it's the same situation for a sin you did yesterday, as long as you confess, repent, and accept God's forgiveness.
What a shame when we allow the enemy of our souls to steal the truth about the forgiveness we have through Christ.
When God says WE'RE FORGIVEN, WE ARE FORGIVEN!
I've met many people who said,'God might be able to forgive me for what I've done, but I can never forgive myself.'
These people are choosing to stay in bondage.
They are essentially saying they are more holy and righteous than God.
